Best Chinese food you will find in Mid-Michigan.. Maybe the entire state! Brandon the owner is amazing and goes over and beyond to make sure his guests have a great experience! I personally love his orange chicken and chicken fried rice. Egg rolls are best I ever had. And don't get me started on the crab cheese!! Absolutely to die for! If I have one day to live... I am getting Chans Garden for lunch!! Can't say enough great things about my experience every time I go. Great portions great price, can't beat it. :) You WILL LOVE IT! He caters too!! Great for tailgates, bday parties and family gatherings

Chan's is my go-to restaurant for Asian in Bay City. It's delicious, inexpensive and fast! Chan's delivers too. I love the veggie dishes and the veggie rice noodles can't be beat. I've customized dishes and the outcome has been glorious. Put some curry on it, sub tofu for meat, get some homemade hot chili oil, and get extra broccoli. Chan's is pleased to do custom orders, it even says so on the menu. The owner is extremely sweet and hard working. I've tried the other Asian cuisine in town and Chan's is the best value for the money with no disappointment.

I got the kung pao chicken, white rice, egg roll, and hot n sour soup. Ok, so this is my staple order for any Chinese place I come across in my travels. I have a pretty acute outlook on what I like and what I don't like about these dishes from certain places. This place is no different, but they did do some things very well. First off, THANK YOU! Thank you for actually knowing what the word spicy is. When I order my Kung Pao to come spicy, usually I get something that has flavor...but not kick. I want kick. This place delivered what I was looking for. I could've done without the lumps and lumps of veggies and all that come in the mix, but I realize that is what this dish is all about. Secondly, ya'll absolutely nailed the hot n sour soup. The key to this is the black pepper. It was also absurdly hot when it arrive. This is exactly what I want. I hate it when places bring mildly warm soup. That is just insanity. Anyways, there have always got to be bad things about places that don't get five stars. The egg roll was far and away the worse thing I ate. I am an egg roll killer and I couldn't even eat half of it. The cuts of cabbage and all in the middle were way too big and it just wasn't good. Besides that, the service was great and I couldn't have been more pleased. Way to go guys.

Some of the best Chinese food around. Wanton Soup was on point. Along with the crab cheese. Can't wait to come back and try something different.

Well. Doesn't seem scary in the sense that I'm worried about food poisoning but not great either. Sizzling rice soup was mediocre at best and general tso chicken is deep fried frozen chicken with some microwave frozen broccoli on it and sauce that tastes like the most sugary teriyaki sauce you can imagine w some crushed red pepper thrown in. It was cheap, hot and edible.

I'm honestly a little concerned this place has such high reviews.. We got delivery - it came way faster than expected which was a plus! I ordered sesame chicken with rice. The chicken was in a thick overly-salty sauce and the rice was way bland. My boyfriend got the beef and broccoli with lo mien. He liked it a lot, until he got sick. The egg roll was the best part but even that also left a lot to be desired. It works for a Chinese delivery place in a pinch but not sure we'll be back any time soon.

Since it opened a couple weeks ago, my husband and I have been to Chan's Garden three times. We've had the same entrees every time: vegetable rice noodles and beef with broccoli. The first time (the day it opened) we thought "meh, maybe we'll go back in a pinch." The second and third time, however, the food was great. Maybe there were some opening day kinks that were worked out, but now its our favorite Chinese place in town especially because almost nowhere else has rice noodles (which is my favorite). The beef and broccoli portion is a bit small for my husband, but since it's $5, its still more than a reasonable portion size. I can never finish the rice noodles because it's a large portion and chocked full of a variety of vegetables. The hot and sour soup and chicken wing appetizer are also very good, but the "crab" cheese contain no crab (still good, just crabless) and the spring roll tasted like it had cinnamon on the inside. I believe the soups are made to order because I was able to get my hot and sour soup without pork, which I appreciated. The one time we dined in our waitress was very friendly and attentive without being bothersome. The other huge plus- they have delivery! There is a small fee for it, but since nowhere else in town delivers, this is an excellent service!

This was our first visit. We got a carry-out order; Crab cheese appetizer, Cashew Chicken combo with egg drop soup & fried rice. It was all delicious! Will definitely return!

It's OK, the fried wontons are overly greasy and the crab rangoon (which they call crab cheese) is fairly tasteless. The Lo_main was ok but nothing special.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
